You should not encounter any additional complications with having children than someone in the general population.

Having said that you and your husband should sit down with a genetics counselor to go over your options.  Based on the fact that you have 22Q microdeletion you have a 50% chance of having a child with the same condition.  I am sure the genetics counselor will go over your options with you.

My wife and I do not have VCFS, but we struggled mightily with fertility until she was diagnosed with premature ovarian failure.  Her body basically did not produce any more eggs.  We had to use an egg donor and my sperm to conceive.  After 4 years of struggling we just had our first KidS (a boy/girl set of twins).

Good luck with starting your family!

Hi,  I have 22q deletion and was 34 when I got pregnant.  My first pregnancy ended in Miscarraige.  Which I considered a blessing from God.  I had mutiple surgeries and Tretology of Fallot.  I was in a way glad that happened in a way when it did cause I thought it was a way of God telling me that wasn't the right child for me.  Then I got pregnant a month later with my daughter heather.  She is completley healthy in every way.  I prayed every day when I was pregnant with her.  Of course my obgyn recomended genetics counseling and family tree history of medical situations.  I wish you all the best. I would recomend you don't wait to much longer to have kids.  I wish i had started a little bit younger because I wanted 2 kids but medically i am not pushing for another one because of my 22 q and also my age.
