Nephew with a possible learning disability, is a teenager
I have a teenge nephew who I feel is struggling with a learning diability of what origin I am not sure. We hare not wealthy and I would like to know where can I go to get quality testing for him to get him the educational help he needs. I heard your interview with Carol Joynt and I would like to know what boarding school you attended. You seem to be doing terrific and I will purchase your book. Kind thanks Kind thanks
Thank you for your question and welcome to FriendsOfQuinn.com.
I am sorry your nephew is having a problem with school. It is good that he has such a supportive family. I know that helps him immensely. It is so important because when children and teens struggle in school, their self-esteem can also suffer. Encouragement and support from family members can help to improve self-esteem.
Your nephew's school should be able to test for a learning disability. His parents can request the school complete an evaluation for a learning disability. They will need to support their request with why they believe there is a LD and they can include samples of his work to explain their point.
