I'm only speaking from experiance, but it would be wise to get tested, I was born without a clef palate but had a vsd I have more physical problems than mental problems but have my fair share of mental problems too, now that testing is here, unlike when I was born in 78 If you have insurance I would def get tested if you have certain problems like a vsd, 68% of kids with heart defects are diagnosed with vcfs, and that increases if you have other problems, no problems are the same in any person either. If you don't have insurance I would try and get help from the hospital, genetic testing is very expensive and you shouldn't do it on a whim but I hate to think out of all the stuff I missed out on for help because it was testing wasn't around and I was miss diagnosed. I hope everything works out, again I'm not a doctor, but just speaking from experiance. That is a good question too.
