what is the best way to get funding for a non-profit organization

My friend Dayon who advocates without pay a child with a disabled child out of her house here in San Diego. She along with Dr.Parker of the Balboa Private school is holding a fund Raiser in October. She needs funding and a volunteer Auctioner for her event. She is looking for private and public funding so she can effectively advocate on behalf of children/parents rights and provide for her own Family.I would greatly appreaciate any suggestions I might pass on to Dayon.I don't think any child with a birth defect, medical condition or a physical disability should have their rights violated because of the unlightned souls of greedy law firms that consultant school districts.my email is chrispkorman@yahoo.com.

I admire your dedication and work you do to help children receive a better education. You and your friend should be commended for tireless (well, you may get tired!) work you continue to do. I know you have posted about events that are happening in your area in the past.

I am not familiar with California, but in Pennsylvania, where I live, seniors in high school are required to do a "senior project." Many volunteer in the community to help non-profit organizations. You may be able to contact some schools to find out if there are seniors that are willing to work with your friend, either on the phone reaching out to local businesses to request donations to be auctioned or to ask for cash donations.

If not, you might want to contact some local colleges and speak with someone in the special needs office to see if there are some students that may want to work with your friend.
