Children with VCFS can have many other medical issues, such as thrombocytopenia (a low platelet count), circulatory problems, chronic constipation, and minor abnormalities of the kidneys. For a full listing of abnormalities associated with VCFS, it is possible to download information from the website of the VCFS educational foundation or the website of the VCFS international Center. For a more detailed description of VCFS including an analysis of all of the anomalies associated with the syndrome, the book Velo-Cardio-Facial Syndrome, volume I (Plural Publishing) is recommended.
