My son is 9 years old and is failing the 4th grade. He has fine motor skills difficultly. The teachers say that he is very distracted but very well behaved. His handwriting is very messy and he doesn't understand spacing and writing on the lines. He had trouble catching a ball and has no 3D perception. He has trouble tracing lines in books when he reads and will constantly skip words or even whole lines in a book. He's unable to copy things on the board to a paper. He has a uncoordinated walk and run. He has trouble sequencing things and is disorganized. I have taken him to multiple doctors and the only thing he has been diagnosed with is a non specific learning disability. He has been wearing glassed since he was two because of farsightness and amblyopia (lazy eye). I live in the panhandle of Florida and haven't had much luck trying to find anybody that can help with his problems. My wife and I are always at odds with the school. It has taken us 3 years to get him on an IEP from the school. He is a great kid but is beginning to hate school because he can't succeed on at it. I'm looking for any advice I can find to help the beautiful wonderful child of mine. Any help would be welcomed.
