Unfortunately there is alot of information lacking in regards to the circumstance that lead it to the supreme court. The decission will definately make public schools more accountable of taking care of children with special needs. Yet most public schools are not well prepared, staffed, and/or equipped to handle many special need students. I know first hand because what my son is currently going thru and the school district we live in. I was fortunate enough to stay on top of my sons education at a very early age starting with an IEP program in preschool. It has been a struggle for the school district and our family but I feel we have developed a good educational path for my son with hopes of him getting the best education he can.

As for the court case, if the school failed in its responsibilities as they are layed out by the law to provide the proper education for that student. Then the parent has every right to do what is best for their child to get the best education they can.
