Hey everyone! My name is Erin. This is my first blog entry on Friends of Quinn, so I thought I'd introduce myself a little. For the first 7 years of my life I walked around with a hole in my heart (literally). Once this was discovered I of course had open-heart surgery, and was soon thereafter dia...

Saturday, March 13, 2010 at 02:48 PMWelcome to FriendsOfQuinn.com. We are very excited about this site and hope that by sharing stories and experiences with one another everyone can be helped. When dealing with any type of disability, it is easy to feel alone and isolated, as if you are the only person facing the challenges you face. It is good to know that other people may feel the same way, struggle with the same difficulties and trying to find ways to manage our symptoms.
This site hopes to make the journey a little easier, by giving everyone an opportunity to talk with one another and provide support to one another.
Some of the ways you can share information on the site:
Write a blog letting us know about what you are going through, both your struggles and your successes. We can celebrate successes together and help support one another through the difficult times.
Read through the blogs that have been posted and share your thoughts with other people, letting them know you understand just might help them make it through the day or help in solving a problem
Ask or answer a question. There are probably many things you have questions about and other things you may be able to answer, based on your own experience.
Again, welcome to FriendsOfQuinn.com. I will look forward to hearing more about your story.

Tuesday, March 16, 2010 at 12:15 AMHello Erin,
Thank you for sharing your thoughts and feelings. I too am looking for a job. I've been dealing with mental issues and taking medication for it. The medication helps me with clear thinking and autistic tendencies. I tend to be shy and sometimes socially awkward. I go to church and fellowship with my peers. It helps me to get out of myself. I go to school and work part time. This helps me to be more independent. I also have a dog named Rex. He has been a great companion. So thank you again for your blog. Hope to hear from you
