The story of my son's life struggling with vcfs .

He was Born July 30th 2002 8lbs 7 oz 22 inches long it was a very diffulcult pregnancy for me . He got stuck in the birth canal were the doctors had to take me to have an emergancy c-section . When he arrived in this worl he took his first breath to soon and swallowed amneotic fluid. He required oxygen for several days than was released to come home. I then started to notice during feeding times he would throw his milk back up out of his nose instead of his mouth. I then took him to see our family Dr. he told me that he had grade 4 reflux and put him on two diffrent kinds of medicine. As time progresses and he starts to grow i noticed he was having a very hard time with his speech and was not talking the way he should be talking at that age . I took him back to the Dr. with my concerns and he recomended me to the Arkansas Childrens Hospital. We left at the next avaliable appointment were we were soon to find out that he had a severe cleft pallete. the Dr. then explained to me that he would need to undergo several operations to reconstruct his pallete. He has went through three sugerys to help repair the pallete and were soon to find out that the Dr. had found a Tumor the size of an egg in his neck . My Little sweet man has went threw enough i thought deep down why this why my baby ? The Dr. then told me there were bad risk during this sugery to remove the tumor without touching his nerves, But was glad to know the lord was watching over him and the sugery was a great sucess . Sice then he has had his tonsils and atnoids removed witch i personally think has help out with how sick he always stayed with a cold or phenomia. He is now in Kidnagartin and is graduating may the 28th. He still requires alot of speech theropy, but you can understand him so much better 95% better. I am so proud of my son. He is my hero he has went threw so much and continues to wake up smiling everyday. He is a very smart, outgoing and loves to play sports he is on the Little Dribblers team at his school and wants to play baseball next . I hope This story touches someone out there someone who is facing the same situation that we have went threw .                  God Bless
