Really enjoying the book

I'm about halfway through, and am really enjoying the book. I've been reading a lot of biographys lately, and this for me is one of the best (probably the one I can most relate to).
I had some similar experiences in my life, and can relate to a lot of what the book is about (as I'm sure most can say).
When I was in 2nd grade, my parents took me to some psychological center to see if I was "normal". Apparently I was, though there is some conflicting opinions.
My first sexual experience was with a prostitute in Haiti (though I didn't wear a condom). However, I didn't tell my mother. Apparently I don't have Aids (just missed, as Aids got to Haiti right about the time I was there (1974)). I did get Gonnoreah, but that was easily healed with a shot of penicillin in each bun.
Anyhow, this is a really good book. My parents also were pretty amazed at what I've been able to do, considering how I appeared to be possibly "retarded". or whatever.
I ended up going the the Naval Academy for two years, etc.
It wasn't always easy (and still isn't) but I'm doing OK. Of course, I didn't have as much physical problems as Quinn. He seems to have a really good attitude, and a lot of competence in some of the things he does (film, writing). I'm really good at untying knots.
Anyhow, I don't see why this book shouldn't do really well in sales. I got it at the library today and will probably finish it tonight (I read fast if its a good book, though usually can't remember a whole lot sometimes due to age and short term memory issues).
