    I am so glad Quinn's book was able to help you. I will make sure he sees your post and knows how much the book helped.

     

    The label of learning disabled does have a double edge. Although we need to have our children identified in order to receive extra services and be able to suceed in school, it also sometimes creates a negative view and makes the children feel different. Slowly, I think, we have made progress and include children in special education in many more mainstream activities than in the past. We are moving forward, but not quick enough.

     

    There is some information on the site that may help you in finding outlets for your son. The reource post below gives ideas on where to find local organizations.
