Quinn's Guide to Friendship, Dating and Self-Confidence

I want to let everybody know that I had a wonderful (yet exhausting) time in Ireland at the VCFS conference. During the conference, I spoke about what I have suffered though in my life, much of which I wrote about in my book. I also talked a little bit about FriendsOfQuinn and how many people with VCFS are coming to the site. When I was first diagnosed with VCFS I thought I was all alone. However, since I started FriendsOfQuinn, I now realize how many other people have VCFS and have had very similar experiences.

I learned so many valuable lessons at the conference, particularly from listening to parents and caretakers of children, teens and adults with VCFS. For example, I found out more about side effects of the condition such as:

-Sweating problems
-Hammered feet (people with VCFS should wear a good pair of running shoes, not flip flops)
-Leg cramps
-Difficulty keeping food down, especially at bedtime
-Bed wetting
-Sleep disorders

Mark your calendars: the next VCFS conference in Ireland is going to be in 2013.

I would love for everybody on this site who has learning disabilities and/or VCFS to share his/her diagnosis, symptoms, and treatment methods so I can compile a comprehensive list of resources for doctors, caretakers/parents, and people with these conditions.
