I want to let everybody know that I had a wonderful (yet exhausting) time in Ireland at the VCFS conference. During the conference, I spoke about what I have suffered though in my life, much of which I wrote about in my book. I also talked a little bit about FriendsOfQuinn and how many people with...

Thursday, November 05, 2009 at 04:29 PMHello Quinn,
I've always wanted to go to Ireland, maybe I should start planning for that and use it as an excuse. I wanted to thank you for this site. I just stumbled onto it when doing some searching VCFS. I'm 31 and finally close to getting diagnosed. My Mom got in touch with the UC Davis MIND Institue and they are pretty sure I have a 22Q Deletation (along with math spelling is also pretty bad for me). Like you I was born with a hole in my heart which seems to be common with VCFS. I was born in 1978 and in 1987 my dr wanted me tested but the insurance refused to pay for it so it wasn't pursed but within the last few years my Mom has been looking for resources for me and put in my health issues into google and VCFS kept coming up. The Dr at UC Davis asked to send some pictures and we did. Within 24 hours they said we can't obviously make a diagnoses in an email but we are prety sure she has a 22 Q Deletation and is going to get us in contact with someone who can help my Dr with ordering the test, etc. My Dad is also in newspapers. He has worked in newspapers for about 40 yeas. My Mom is a special education teacher so that has helped a lot over the years because she's very well educated with the ADA laws, etc. Sorry to go on and on but I am very grateful there is a place for someone with disablites to not be afaird to write blogs and talk to other people about what they are going through

Friday, November 06, 2009 at 10:28 AMHello there and you are very welcome. I created this site for people like you and me. I hope everything goes well with getting the testing information that you need. And I want you to feel that you can come back and write about anything that you want. P.S. I like that about your dad.
reply - Glad you are back!

Saturday, November 07, 2009 at 11:53 AMHi Quinn
wow...Ireland! That must have been so exciting. This is one place of many I have never been to in my life. I think such a long plane ride would terrify me.
I have the most respect and admiration for you giving a talk. I know you gave me such good advice for my presentation...thank you so much. Were you nervous at all?
The things you learned...they sound worthy of a post a piece. I am sure all the members would love to know more information about all these things.
Thank you for doing all that you do and for hosting such a wonderful site. Hope you are having a great weekend!

Answer a Question
what autism spectrum disorders are in vcfs?

Learning Disability Resources, Tips and Tools

He is 19 yrs old and has suffered from learning disabilities all of his life. He was diagnosed with ADD and reading comprehension issues in 5th grade. Has struggled with impulsivity issues. He attempted community college and lost interest after failing 4 classes. He is a handsome young man, just like you Quinn, and has the pronounced chin. What do you mean by hammered feet? He has flat feet, is that the same? I am just curious if he has a form of VCFS... thank you in advance for your response.
I love your web site and receiving your inspirational messages.
