Hello. I want to remind everyone that October is LD Awareness Month. Please share your opinions and ideas about what it means to you. Write about what you do to raise awareness and how you would make life with learning disabilities better.

    Hello!

My names is Laura and I am a special education teacher in a public school.  I had the idea that our school should have a Disability Awareness Assembly at the beginning of the year.  I feel like it would greatly increase tolerance and reduce bullying.  I even thought that it would increase the likelyhood of a typical child approaching a child with special needs to play.  That would be wonderful!  Does anyone know a good group of people that perform interactive assemblies for schools that promote disability awareness???
