Look Beyond the Label to Discover Gifts

The tester was wrong in his assessment.
My son could not only copy a circle but he went on to draw amazing things, showing perspective and detail in his art work uncommon for his age. Since the day of drawing circles, he has not stopped drawing. My son draws each and every day. Had I taken to heart and believed more in other's assessments of my son based upon his label we may never have discovered his gift for art. In addition, my son absolutely learned to talk, he has tons of imagination, and I have never given any thoughts about my son being in an institution. Nobody has a crystal ball. And nobody can tell you your future based upon your label.
Everyone has gifts to share with the world. One of my hopes for writing here is that I can inspire you to discover your special passions, talents and gifts. I also hope that parents and educators will see beyond labels to the unique and wonderful person underneath.
