I liked this story very much and I'm glad that Max found a way to overcome his fear of dogs by realizing, with your help, that not all dogs were the same, that some would love him.

I really believe that something can form between humans and animals, more than the symbiosis obvious in food and water in exchange for protection, even companionship. I do think there can be more, but I can't, nor do I wish to, explain it. Somehow, I might cheapen the magic one can find there if I did.

The picture is great! Such a warm picture that depicts, for at least a moment, that cats and dogs can get along. Of course the cat is a kitten..., and Daisy seems to have a paw on her tail! But still, they look great together. :)  Thanks for this story.

Great Picture!!! We have not often had the opportunity for pets. However, we have been able to provide farm type situations from time to time. One thing we recently thought about doing after visiting the Science Museum is getting some fertilized eggs from a farmer and incubating a couple of chicks. I'll let you know how it goes if we do it.

I think that writting about our pets and how they reflect the family is a great thing. People often overlook animals, but sometimes animals help people more than what they think. I have a 70lb boxer that I could not imagine life without. HE stays by my side when my husband is gone on deployments and always seems to think HE has to be the boss when dads gone. He brings so many laughs and snuggles and hugs and kisses that anyone could ever ask for.
