5.   Make something from scratch:  Get out great grandma's recipe for snickerdoodles and make them with the kids.  You can tell stories of your family and what you used to like to eat and bake as a kid.   If you are ambitious and want some really different recipes to make there is a book and a web site called "Top Secret Recipes" where author Todd Wilbur gives us his version of how to make our own version of favorite brand name food.  For example, if you go to the Top Secret Recipes web site you can find a recipe for 7-eleven Cherry Slurpees you can make at home or even your own homemade version of a Baby Ruth candy bar.  It is fascinating stuff and especially for kids.)

Now it is your turn!  Do you have any fun or festive activities you do with your kids during the time period before Christmas day?  Give your suggestions here in the form of a comment.  We always love to hear from you!

One last thing. .. Happy Holidays to all!  Thank you for being a member of Friends of Quinn.  We wish you peace, love, and happiness in this New Year.
